Chris Hood

chris hood, graphic artist
[yes, I am a big fan of Mr. Warhol]

Chris is our leader-of-the-pack, acting as a blend of studio and production manager, sales person, art director, designer, developer, photographer and resident answer guy. Off the market, Chris is married to his beautiful wife and together have the most amazing (and mischievous) son. Residing in one of the oldest houses in town, just inside the downtown area’s historic district, the trio are longtime Maconites.

The Hoodster’s been into graphic design for more than 10 years, getting his start in the profession by designing sponsorship brochures and team uniforms for a local cycling teams back when he was into the two-wheeled endurance sport. Eventually Hood took a position as a staff writer while still in college and swiftly moved up the ranks to editor-in-chief where the lack of a layout editor forced forced him to learn page layouts (as if running the show wasn’t enough, right? Always the overachiever…).

During his reign as editor-in-chief, Hood lead the paper to win more awards than during the previous six years of the paper’s history. He also managed to bag several awards for layout and design, outstanding contributions and leadership as well.

The success of his designability let Chris to search out freelance work sporadically, doing mostly logo work and the occasional book to help pay tuition and other college endeavors.

During his new formed pixel-pushing and ink-mashing career, Hood eventually landed a job as a prepress designer for a quick-print shop just up the road from the college and made that his full-time job for a little more than four years. In April 2007 his mind was made and the decision to quit working for someone else and be his own boss became reality. Part of the inspiration came when traveling through Atlanta one evening and passing a graffitied wall with the message “Your Hard Work is Making Someone Else Rich.”

In a lapse of better judgement, the designer forget to mention that he carries inside him a Heart of Gold.

    Hello,

I came across your site and I’m very interested in the type of sites you design. I’m interested in having a site designed for a near future business.
